The installation method of screen lock varies depending on the type of window and the type of lock. Here are three common installation methods for screen locks, suitable for diamond mesh screen windows, sliding screen windows, and casement windows in high-rise residential buildings:
1、 Diamond mesh screen window (key lock/multi-point lock)
Applicable scenarios: High rise residential buildings with high safety requirements, anti fall and anti-theft measures. Installation steps:
Confirm the position of the lock body: The lock body is generally installed in the middle of the side of the screen window, aligned with the locking point of the window frame.
Marking and punching: Use the fixed distance template provided with the lock body to stick it to the screen frame, and mark the screw hole positions with a pencil.
Punching and fixing: Use an electric drill to drill holes at the marked locations (usually between 3~4mm), and fix the lock body with self tapping screws. Install the locking buckle: Install the locking buckle plate at the corresponding position of the window frame to ensure that the locking tongue can be smoothly inserted.
Test key: Insert the key to test whether the lock tongue extends and retracts smoothly. After confirming that there are no errors, tighten all screws.
2、 Push pull screen window (press lock/crescent lock)
Applicable scenarios: Aluminum alloy or plastic steel sliding windows, easy to operate. Installation steps:
Positioning lock body: Place the lock body on the vertical frame on the side of the screen window, close to the edge but not obstructing the sliding. Punching and fixing: Use an electric drill to drill holes on the screen frame, and use matching screws to fix the lock body. Install the lock buckle: Install the lock buckle at the corresponding position on the window frame to ensure that the screen window does not shake after locking. Debugging: Repeatedly push and pull the screen window to check if it is stuck and if the lock is tightly closed.
3、 Flat opening screen window (no drilling limit lock)
Applicable scenarios: Internal and external windows, especially suitable for rental users or scenes where the window frame is not damaged. Installation steps (without drilling):
Clamping lock: Clamp the lock onto the edge of the window frame and adjust it to the point where the screen window and window frame are closed. Rotating fastening: Use the built-in knob or key to clamp and fix the lock without drilling holes.
Test closure: Close the screen window and confirm that the lock can effectively limit the opening angle or lock completely.
